While F1 tries to go worldwide, Austria is one of a core of traditional European tracks that have established staples on the calendar.
It will be one of six new events that will host the “sprint” format this year. They use a Saturday qualifying race to determine the starting lineup for the primary grand prix.

Verstappen finished second and Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes third in 2022, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc taking home a decisive triumph.
